Spread the love
The Darkness Announce Show at the Gleneagle INEC Arena, June 21st, 2025 The Darkness, one of the most extraordinary and beloved bands to emerge from the UK, are bringing their high-energy, spandex-clad rock anthems to the Gleneagle INEC Arena on June 21st, 2025. It was in 2003 that The Darkness burst onto the global stage with their debut album Permission to Land, a release that ignited a love affair with fans worldwide. The album topped the UK charts, went 5x Platinum, and sold over 1.5 million copies in the UK alone, while also making waves across the globe from the USA to Japan. Iconic hits such as I Believe In A Thing Called Love, Growing On Me, Get Your Hands Off My Woman, and Love Is Only A Feeling became anthems, and the band collected a slew of awards, including three BRIT Awards, two Kerrang! Awards, and an Ivor Novello for ‘Songwriters of the Year’. The band’s meteoric rise was marked by unforgettable performances, including a headline set at the 2004 Reading & Leeds Festivals, before releasing their second album, One Way Ticket to Hell… And Back, in 2005, which produced the hit One Way Ticket. However, in 2006, following the pressures of fame, lead singer Justin Hawkins took a step back, and The Darkness disbanded. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, The Darkness reformed in 2011, touring Europe and South America alongside Lady Gaga, and releasing their comeback album Hot Cakes. Success continued with Last of Our Kind (2015), Pinewood Smile (2017), and Easter Is Cancelled (2019). Despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, the band’s 2021 album Motorheart received critical acclaim and marked their return to the top of festival lineups, while Justin Hawkins became a rock personality sensation with his Justin Hawkins Rides Again podcast. 2023 marked the 20th anniversary of Permission to Land, a milestone celebrated with sold-out shows, including Wembley with Black Stone Cherry, a performance at BST Hyde Park with Guns N’ Roses, and the release of a deluxe album and a critically acclaimed documentary, Welcome to the Darkness. Today, more than two decades after changing the face of British rock music, The Darkness continue to captivate hearts and audiences with their unforgettable anthems and cheeky rock spirit. Don’t miss your chance to see The Darkness live at the Gleneagle INEC Arena on June 21st, 2025! Tickets go on sale soon.
