The Gathering Traditional festival returns for its 18th year to the INEC and Gleneagle Hotel Killarney on Feb 22 -26th 2017.
One of the foremost festivals in Ireland which celebrates the craic and culture of Irish Traditional music and dance, the Gathering Traditional Festival draws trad aficionados from Kerry to the US.
“The event is now very firmly established in the traditional music calendar and many of the same people keep coming back year after year,’’ said festival organiser John O’Shea.
With concerts, céilí’s, workshops, masterclasses, sessions, storytelling there is something for everyone at the festival. Concert highlights for 2017 include performances by Dervish, John Carty Festival Band, The Boruma Trio, Full Set, Goitse & lots more.
The always hugely popular céilí’s return with Úi Bhriain, Neily O’Connor, Five Counties, Striolán Céilí Band and Johnny Reidy guaranteed to get you on your feet!
The Gathering Traditional Festival aims to showcase the best of Irish traditional musicians while also providing an opportunity to promote the new and upcoming home-grown talent. The various workshops and masterclasses also help musicians and dancers who wish to grow their skills, while learning from the best tutors available.
